Puri/Bhubaneswar: Following the Supreme Court’s approval to conduct the Rath Yatra in Puri with strict adherence to COVID-19 guidelines, the Odisha government on Monday began hectic meetings for the smooth conduct of the world-famous festival.
Soon after the verdict of the apex court, a high-level meeting began at the Bhakta Nivas in Puri.
Among others present at the meeting are the Law minister, chief secretary, Director General of Police (DGP), executive chairperson of the Jagannath Temple Managing Committee, chief administrator of Shri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), Crime Branch ADG and DIG, Central Range.
The meeting will be followed by a high-level review meeting to be conducted by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik via video conferencing from Bhubaneswar, from 5 pm.
