Odisha Govt Changes Admission Timeline For UG & BEd Courses For Muharram

Bhubaneswar: With the Odisha government rescheduling the holiday for Muharram from Friday to Saturday, the Higher Education department has changed the timeline for admission into under-graduate and BEd courses.

The department, in an official letter to PG Council Chairman, Principals of all government/non-government degree colleges and Principals of government teacher education institutions on Thursday, stated that the universities and colleges coming under the department will remain closed on July 29 (Saturday) instead of July 28 (Friday) on account of ‘Muharram’. All higher education institutions will remain open on Friday.

Accordingly, the timeline for UG & BEd courses has been postponed as below:

  • UG: Reporting of applicants at allotted Institutions and data updation of admitted students in the e-space by the respective institutions (for second round admission) will be held from July 31 to 7 pm on August 3.
  • BEd/MEd/BHEd: Reporting of applicants at allotted institutions and data updation of admitted students in the e-space by the respective institutions (for first round admission), which was scheduled to be held on July 29, will be done on July 31 upto 7 pm.
