Bhubaneswar: Odisha government has announced summer vacation for schools and educational institutions from April 18 in view of heatwave conditions across the state.
“Keeping the intense heat wave in view, the state government has decided to declare summer vacations earlier, from April 18,” special relief commissioner (SRC) Bishnupada Sethi told Odisha Bytes.
Officials said it was up to the higher education department to take a call on whether to make early announcement of summer vacation for colleges and universities.
The school and mass education department had in a notification on March 23 directed all private and government schools across the state to resume morning session from April 2. The notification had also announced summer vacation from May 6.
