Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has announced partial closure of its offices, schools and colleges due to the visit of President Droupadi Murmu to the state on Thursday.
The Revenue and Disaster Management department, in a notification on Wednesday, said all government offices, schools and colleges (government and private) under the jurisdiction of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) will remain closed on the occasion of the visit of President Murmu to the state on Thursday.
The offices and educational institutions in BMC area will be closed after 1 pm.
After assuming the office, President Murmu, who belongs to Mayurbhanj district, will visit Odisha for first time. She will land at Biju Patnaik International Airport on Thursday. She will receive guard of honour at the airport and then fly in a helicopter to Puri where she will go to Jagannath temple to have darshan of sibling deities.
