Odisha Govt Denies Custodial Death In Puri

Cuttack: The Odisha government on Monday told the High Court that the death of K Ramesh on November 19 last year was not due to custodial torture.

The government said this in an affidavit submitted to the court by Advocate General Ashok Parija.

Along with the affidavit, the Advocate General also submitted the post-mortem report of the deceased.

Not satisfied with the reply, the court directed the government to submit a detailed status report on the case by the next hearing on January 22.
