Odisha Govt Effects IPS Reshuffle, Appoints Sanjeeb Panda As ADG Anti-Naxal Operations

Bhubaneswar: In a major reshuffle in IPS cadre, the Odisha government on Wednesday announced the transfer and posting of senior officers involving key departments such as the Anti-Naxal Operations and Special Intelligence Wing (SIW).

As per a notification issued by the Home Department, 1994-batch IPS officer Sanjeeb Panda has been appointed as the Additional Director General (ADG), Anti-Naxal Operations.

Earlier serving as ADG, Training and Director of Biju Patnaik State Police Academy (BPSPA), Panda will now oversee both the Special Intelligence Wing (SIW) and Anti-Naxal Operations, reporting directly to the DGP of Odisha.

Similarly, 2006-batch IPS officer Anup Kumar Sahoo, IGP, Training, will continue as the Director of BPSPA until further notice.

In another important order, Akhileshwar Singh (RR 2009), DIG of Police, SWR, Koraput, has been transferred and posted as DIG of Police, SIW, Bhubaneswar with immediate effect.

In a corresponding swap, Kanwar Vishal Singh (RR 2010), who was DIG, SIW, Bhubaneswar, has now been posted as DIG, SWR, Koraput.

These transfers and postings are seen as part of efforts to strengthen internal security operations and enhance administrative efficiency, especially in regions affected by left-wing extremism.
