Bhubaneswar: Effecting a major reshuffle among IAS officers, the Odisha government on Thursday gave new appointments and additional charge to several of them.
The General Administration and Public Grievance (GA&PG) Department issued a notification in this regard.
As part of the reshuffle, Satyabrata Sahu of 1991-batch, who is Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department with additional charge of Additional Chief Secretary, Forest, Environment & Climate Change Department, has been appointed as Member, Board of Revenue, Odisha, Cuttack.
Similarly, Deoranjan Kumar Singh of 1993-batch, now Additional Chief Secretary, Revenue & Disaster Management Department, with additional charges including Member, Board of Revenue; Special Relief Commissioner, Odisha; Managing Director, Odisha State Disaster Management Authority; and Chairman, Odisha Forest Development Corporation, has also been appointed as Development Commissioner-cum-Additional Chief Secretary, Planning & Convergence Department. Singh is allowed to remain in additional charge of Additional Chief Secretary, Revenue & Di
saster Management Department.
Hemant Sharma of 1995-batch, Additional Chief Secretary, Industries Department with additional charge of Additional Chief Secretary, MSME Department and Chairman, IPICOL, is allowed to remain in additional charge of Principal Secretary to Government, Energy Department.
Other notable changes include Shubha Sarma, (RR-1999), Principal Secretary, Women & Child Development Department, retaining additional charge of Principal Secretary to Government, Water Resources Department; and Bhaskar Jyoti Sarma, (RR-1999), Principal Secretary, Excise Department, continuing with additional charges of CMD, OPTCL and Chairman, OSBC.
Rajesh Prabhakar Patil (RR-2005), Commissioner-cum-Secretary to Government, Co-operation Department, retains additional charges of Chairman, Odisha State Warehousing Corporation (OSWC) and Special Secretary to Government, Housing & Urban Development Department, while also continuing as Special Relief Commissioner, Odisha, and Managing Director, Odisha State Disaster Management Authority.
In district-level appointments, Madhumita Rath, IAS (SCS-2015), Additional Secretary to Government, School & Mass Education Department, has been appointed as Collector & District Magistrate, Nayagarh, under the provisions of Section 14(1) of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023.
Similarly, Akshay Sunil Agrawal, IAS (RR-2019), Collector & District Magistrate, Nayagarh, has been appointed as Collector & District Magistrate, Gajapati.
