Odisha Govt Empowers MLAs To Recommend Transfer Of School Teachers

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has empowered the local MLAs for the transfer of school teachers during the 2021-22 academic session.

Deputy Secretary, School and Mass Education Laxmikant Acharya, in a letter to Director, Elementary Education Biranchi Narayan Mohanty, has said the local MLAs will recommend to the district collectors for transfer of maximum 10 primary and secondary school teachers under specified rules.

The transfer of the teachers will be strictly done within the district and no teachers posted in the rural areas will be allowed to be posted in the urban areas, the letter stated.

Besides, the MLAs can recommend the transfer of the teachers to other locations in the district only after considering their urgent needs.
