Odisha Govt Excluded 1 Lakh Women From Subhadra 2nd Instalment Due To Discrepancies

Bhubaneswar: Over one lakh women have been deprived of receiving the second instalment of Subhadra Yojana money in Odisha due to certain discrepancies.

Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida said these women failed to get the financial benefit due to mismatches in their ration card details and declared income.

While many women had voluntarily returned their ration cards following improvement of their financial situation, some were found to have purchased vehicles or reported high paddy yields at procurement centres, she said.

Therefore, these women were excluded from the scheme, said Parida, who holds Women and Child Development portfolio.

She said the state government will conduct a detailed survey after March 31 to reassess the eligibility of the affected beneficiaries. This step aims to verify income details and ensure that only deserving women continue receiving the scheme’s benefits.

The Deputy CM assured that the government would try to address the discrepancies and ensure that those wrongly excluded due to documentation issues get their second installment by Rakhi Purnima.
