Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has extended the grace period of payment of the Motor Vehicle tax and additional tax for good carriages due for the quarter (January to March 2022) till February 28.
Due to the difficulties faced by goods carriage owners arising out of the pandemic, they were not being able to pay taxes for the quarter within the grace period prescribed under sub-rule-(2) of rule-9 of Odisha Motor Vehicle Taxation Rules, 1976, a notification issued by Commerce and Transport Department said.
It must be mentioned here that last year too, the state government had allowed similar concessions to the vehicle owners.
