Bhubaneswar: The state government on Tuesday extended the grace period for payment of Motor Vehicle (MV) Tax and additional tax in respect of goods carriages for the quarter October-December till November 30.
The State Transport Authority (STA) in a twitter post said due to the lockdown declared by the Centre and the state governments to prevent the spread of COVID-19, goods carriage owners are not able to pay the Motor Vehicle tax and additional tax due for the quarter (October-December. 2020) within the grace period as prescribed under sub-rule (2) of rule 9 of the Odisha Motor Vehicles Taxation Rules, 1976.
Considering the difficulties faced by vehicle owners of goods carriages, the state government has decided to extend the grace period for payment of Motor Vehicle Tax and additional tax till November 30, it added.
