Odisha Govt, FICCI To Work Together For Success of International Year of Millets

Bhubaneswar: Prem Chandra Choudhary (IAS), director of Agriculture and Food Production, The Government of Odisha, and Mousumi Ghose, Assistant Secretary General, FICCI, signed an MoU at the Krishi Bhawan here in the presence of the Minister of Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment and Fisheries & ARD Ranendra Pratap Swain, on Tuesday FICCI to work together in the execution of all activities related the International Year of Millets, 2023.

As per the MOU, the Government of Odisha will be represented by DA&FE and other committees constituted by the state government, while FICCI will take up various activities towards the organisation of the events throughout the year and provide end-to-end coordination in activities related to IYOM 2022- 23.

It is worth mentioning here that the UN General Assembly has declared the year 2023 as the International Year of Millets (IYOM) to promote millets globally. In this regard, Odisha Millets Mission has planned to organise a series of activities to commemorate this opportunity and spread the importance and benefits of millets globally.
