Odisha Govt Fixes Labour Rates For Post-Cyclone Yaas Restoration Works

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Monday fixed special labour rate for post-cyclone restoration works to be undertaken after cyclonic storm Yaas.

The Energy department has approved the special labour rates for the post cyclone restoration works of the damaged electrical infrastructure to be undertaken by the discoms and OPTCL.

The rates are applicable for post Yaas restoration works only, the department stated in the order.

While the rate for unskilled labour has been fixed at Rs 462, for semi-skilled labour it has been fixed at Rs 522 and skilled workmen at Rs 597.

The Government has also allowed Rs 175 per day per labourer for fooding and other charges for those who shall be deployed in post-cyclone Yaas restoration work. One triple-layer mask shall be provided to each worker per day out of this amount, the letter said.
