Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Saturday formed a five-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe into the much-talked-about murder of a minor girl of Jadupur village in Nayagarh district.
The SIT will be led by IG Arun Bothra and also comprise Crime Branch officer RK Dora, ASP RC Thamba, Inspectors Narendra Behera and Mamatarani Panda.
The Special Secretary, Home informed the Orissa High Court about the formation of the SIT. In a letter to the HC Registrar General, the secretary also requested the court to appoint a sitting Judge to supervise the investigation.
Earlier on Saturday, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Bikram Keshari Arukha had announced in the Assembly that a gazette notification for the formation of the SIT will be issued very soon.
Notably, the Opposition members had demanded a court-monitored SIT probe into the incident.
