Odisha Govt Grants Rs 15 Lakh Aid To Scribe Who Died Of COVID-19

Bhubaneswar: The state government on Wednesday granted a financial assistance of Rs 15 lakh to the next kin of working journalist Prabir Kumar Pradhan who succumbed to COVID-19 a few months back.

The assistance has been provided under Rule-7 of the Odisha Working Journalists Welfare Fund Rules 2006, the I&PR department said in a statement.

Prabir, a senior journalist of News 18 Odia died of COVID-19 while undergoing treatment at the Aditya Ashwini COVID Hospital in Bhubaneswar on November 5.

Prabir is survived by his wife and a three-year-old daughter.
