Odisha Govt Hikes Annual Contingent Expenditue Of Krushak Sathi

Bhubaneswar: Odisha government has increased the assistance towards annual contingent expenditure of the Krushak Sathi.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday announced the decision, according to a release from the chief minister’s office (CMO).

As per the decision, the government has increased the assistance towards annual contingent expenditure of the Krushak Sathi from Rs 12,000 to Rs 18,000. It will come into effect from October 2023.

Around 13,600 Krushak Sathis in the state will benefit from the hiked assistance.

It may be noted that the government had appointed the leading farmers of the districts as Krushak Sathi in 2007-08. At least two Krushak Sathis were selected from each panchayat.

They were assigned the responsibility to promote awareness about government schemes and latest development in farm sector among the farmers.
