Bhubaneswar: Following a rise in the price of diesel in the international market, the Odisha government on Monday hiked bus fare for all categories under the automatic fare adjustment mechanism.
The fares of ordinary and express buses have been increased by one paise per km, while that of deluxe and AC deluxe buses will be dearer by two paise per km.
According to a notification issued by the Commerce and Transport department, the fare for the ordinary bus will now be 70 p/km as against 69 p/km while that for express bus fare will be 73 p/km instead of 72 p/km.
Besides, deluxe category buses will now charge Rs 1.01 as against 99 p/km while passengers travelling in AC deluxe buses will have to pay Rs 1.23 per km as against Rs 1.21 per km.
