Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Friday hiked the remuneration of Gana Sikhyaks, who have not passed Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET), from Rs 7,000 to Rs 10,000.
Services of Gana Sikhyaks, who have cleared OTET, will be regularised as ‘Med’ teachers. Assistant teachers under this category will also get an annual increment. These decision will benefit 12,113 Gana Sikhyaks in the state, a CMO release said.
It further said that Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik took these decision on the basis of feedback received by 5-T and Naveen Odisha Chairman VK Pandian during his district tours.
