Bhubaneswar: Odisha government on Tuesday increased the salary of
contractual teachers working in different medical colleges in the
state.
According to health minister Pratap Jena, the salary of contractual
professors has been enhanced to Rs 1.25 lakh from Rs 90,000 per
month. Besides, the monthly salary of associate professors has also
been hiked from Rs 75,000 to Rs 1 lakh. Similarly, the assistant
professors will get Rs 75,000 per month instead of Rs 60,000
earlier.
The hike will be effective retrospectively from January 1. The salary
of the teachers will be raised by 3 percent every year, basing upon
their performance, the minister added.
