Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has announced 12 days of casual leave (CL) annually for women employees, in addition to the 15 days they are currently entitled to.
This is an increase from 10 days additional CLs since March this year as announced by the previous BJD government “keeping in mind the family responsibilities and various problems of women” and is being granted in view of the menstruation period. “All the women employees of Odisha government can avail the additional CLs annually apart from the 15 days they get currently,” the official note from CMO said on Tuesday.
On Independence Day, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida had announced that women employees will be entitled to a day’s paid menstrual leave per month.
While the woman employees can now avail 27 days of casual leaves, men are entitled to 15 days of CLs. The 12 days of CL can be utilised one day per month and will be available in addition to the existing 10 days of regular Casual Leave and 5 days of Special Casual Leave.
