Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday announced hike in daily allowance of village resource persons.
As per the announcement, the daily allowance of the village resource persons has been increased from Rs 300 to Rs 400. Besides, they will be paid additional Rs 100 towards travel allowance.
Around 10,000 village resource persons in the state will benefit from the hike in the allowance. It will cost additional expenditure of Rs 2.88 crore to the state exchequer, according to a release from chief minister’s office.
The chief minister made the announcement after receiving suggestions submitted by the village resource persons to 5T chairman VK Pandian during his visit to different places in the state.
The village resource persons are engaged in social audit of different government schemes including MGNREGA, pucca house, food security, mid-day meal and others.
