Bhubaneswar: After detection of third coronavirus in the state, the Odisha government has issued fresh guidelines for hospitals and nursing homes reporting such cases.
The 60-year-old man, who tested positive for the killer virus on March 26, had reportedly visited three different hospitals in Bhubaneswar before his swab samples were sent for the COVID-19 examination from Capital Hospital. He had visited the dispensary of the Odisha State Assembly on March 16 and was admitted to the ICU of Kar Clinic for a day on March 24 with pneumonia-like symptoms. Following his discharge from the clinic on March 25, he consulted doctors at Capital Hospital and was finally diagnosed with the infection.
Prior to being admitted to the isolation ward of Capital Hospital, he had come in contact with 122 people — his wife and daughter, 32 passengers of IndiGo flight in which he travelled to Bhubaneswar from Delhi, his driver and three housemaids after reaching his house, 44 staff members during his visit to the bank, seven staffers of the State Assembly, 21 persons during his visit to Kar Clinic and three persons during a medical test at a pathology lab.
