Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has issued a show cause notice to Minati Behera, former chairperson of the State Commission for Women (OSCW), for showing ‘unsatisfactory’ performance during her tenure, which ended last week.
According to official sources, the notice has been issued by the Department of Women and Child Development. As per the notice, her performance during her tenure was unsatisfactory. Her performance has been found not up to the mark in disposing of cases and holding camp courts.
“Your performance with regard to the disposal of cases and holding of camp courts has been found to be unsatisfactory during your tenure in OSCW,” read the notice.
She has been asked to submit her explanation by 4 pm on October 29. Behera was recently removed from the post by the state government.
She has been asked to explain why action shouldn’t be taken against her.
“You are, therefore, called upon to explain as to why action, as deemed fit, shall not be initiated against you for the lapses as defined under Section- 4(3)(d)&(f) of the Odisha State Commission for Women Act, 1993. You are requested to submit your show cause reply to this Department by 4:00 P.M., 29th October 2024 affirmatively,” stated the notice.
