Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has issued show cause notice to seven colleges for not sanctioning provisional pension in favour of employees on their date of retirement on attaining the age of superannuation.
The show cause notice was issued by the Higher Education department on July 15. The college authorities have been asked by the department to reply within three days for initiation of disciplinary action by the competent authority, sources said.
As per the notice, as many as 11 employees including seven Readers are yet to receive their provisional pension after their retirement from service.
Giving one more opportunity to these colleges, the department directed the college authorities to sanction the provisional pension in favour of retired employees by July 19 and report the compliance in this regard. The compliance can be reported through email to provisionalpensiondhe@gmail.com.
The colleges which have been issued show cause for not sanctioning provisional pension to retired employees are Banki Autonomous College in Cuttack district, Anchalik Mohavidyalaya at Hatadihi in Keonjhar district, Kujang College in Jagatsinghpur, Dharmasala Mohavidyalaya, Jajpur, Angul Mahila Mohavidyalaya, Angul, Larabmha College in Bargarh district and J N College at Kuanpal in Cuttack district.
