Odisha Govt Issues Unlock 8: Reopening Of Cinema Halls & Other Details Here

Bhubaneswar: The state government on Wednesday issued Unlock 8 guidelines allowing cinema halls and theatres to reopen with 50 per cent capacity from January 1.

A notification issued by the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) said, “Open air theatres/jatras/entertainment parks shall be permitted by the local authorities (district magistrate/municipal commissioner or officers authorised by them) to open subject to compliance of safety protocols such as mandatory wearing of face masks and physical distancing.”

The highlights of new guidelines are as follow:

  • The Department of School & Mass Education, Higher Education, Skill Development and Technical Education will decide the date of re-opening of the educational institutions under their control in a graded manner
  • All Academic/Technical/Skill Development Institutions (except Medical Colleges) will remain closed
  • Examinations (academic, competitive and entrance tests), evaluation and other administrative activities to continue
  • Online/distance learning shall continue
  • The teaching and non-teaching staff permitted for online teaching/tele-counselling and related work from school/college/institution
  • Higher education institutions to open for research scholars and post-graduate students in science and technology stream requiring laboratory work
  • International air travel, except as permitted by the MHA, will remain suspended till January 31
  • Social/religious/sports & other gatherings allowed with a ceiling of 200 persons
  • Anganwadi Centres shall remain closed till 31st January 2021
  • Swimming pools owned and controlled by government/recognised by the Department of Sports & Youth Services to open for training of sports persons
  • Wearing of face cover/mask properly compulsory in public places, workplaces and public transport
  • Physical distancing of 6 feet in public places
  • Salons, spas, beauty parlours and barber shops to ensure all safety precautions, disinfection and sanitisation before and after service of each customer.
  • Spitting in public places punishable with fine, as prescribed in accordance with laws, rules or regulations
  • Consumption of liquor, paan, gutka, tobacco in public places is prohibited.
  • No restriction on inter-state and intra-state movement of persons, private vehicles and goods including those for cross land-border trade
  • No separate permission required for such movements
