Bhubaneswar: Odisha government has launched QR Code to facilitate cashless payment for the passengers of LAXMI bus services.
Launching the LAXMI QR Code in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday, Usha Padhee, Principal Secretary, Commerce & Transport department, said it is an initiative of Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC), which has been prepared with alignment of the Code with the 5T initiative of the government. She emphasised the pivotal role of digitalisation in enhancing accessibility and convenience for passengers.
“The launch of the LAXMI QR Code signifies our unwavering commitment to customer-centric service and exemplifies our dedication to embracing digital solutions for a seamless travel experience,” said Diptesh Pattnayak, CMD of OSRTC.
Amitabh Thakur, Transport Commissioner, emphasised the collaborative efforts that led to this innovation. “The partnership between OSRTC and HDFC was instrumental in realising this payment method,” he said.
The LAXMI QR Code is a user-friendly, secure, and efficient payment option which would reduce transaction time and enhance passenger safety, he added. Bisikeshan Dehury, general manager of OSRTC also spoke.
