Odisha Govt Makes RT-PCR Test Mandatory For Kumbh Mela Returnees

Bhubaneswar: The state government on Saturday directed the collectors and municipal commissioners to ensure that the devotees from their areas, who have gone to participate in Kumbh Mela, to undergo RT-PCR test before returning to Odisha.

In an official order, the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) said the collectors and municipal commissioners have been shared with list of persons who have registered with Uttarakhand government for participating in Kumbh Mela.

He advised them to contact all these persons and find out their location and travel plan and advise them to get RTPCR tested before boarding train or flight to Odisha. All such persons must be personally tracked and their health condition monitored.

The order further said all of them should be in quarantine at home or in Cluster TMCs for 14 days. They must be compulsorily RTPCR tested. If COVID-like symptoms are noticed, they should be immediately attended to.

ASHA and Anganwadi workers must visit them regularly in home/CTMCs and monitor their health conditions. They should also advise such persons to voluntarily self-isolate and report to BDO/Municipal/NAC officers/PHC/CHC concerned about their condition. They shall further strictly comply to adherence of COVID-19 protocols.
