Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Tuesday partially modified its earlier order on graded re-opening of areas outside the COVID-19 containment zones.
The notification issued by the Office of Special Relief Commissioner said that schools, colleges, other educational/ training coaching institutions will remain closed till July 31. “However, conduct of examinations shall be permitted,” it added.
The weekend shutdown to contain spread of the virus will be imposed in Ganjam, Puri, Nayagarh, Khurda, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore and Balangir, on all Saturdays and Sundays till June 30, it added.
Only the following activities will be allowed during the shutdown period:
Persons above the age of 65, those with co-morbidities, pregnant women and children below the age of 10 have been advised against venturing out of houses except for essential and health purposes till June 30, the notification added.
