Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has issued a notification for the appointment of new Vice Chancellors for Rama Devi Women’s University and Khallikote Unitary University.
The notification by the Higher Education Department said that professors aspiring for the posts should apply on or before June 30.
The notification on Thursday followed a directive by the Governor and Chancellor of Universities for the appointment of new VCs for six state-run universities.
With regard to the eligibility criteria, the applicant should be below 62 years with 10 years of teaching and administrative experience in the rank of a professor under Section 6 of the Odisha University Act, 1989. Apart from this, the applicant should have 10-year experience as a researcher in a research-based institute.
The monthly salary of the VC will be Rs 2.10 lakh with Rs 5000 as special allowance and other facilities.
The tenure of the VC will be three years from the date of joining or 65 years whichever is earlier.
The applicants can apply for the post by filling up the form in www.hedhec@nic.in and send it through PDF format or they can send a set of hard copy of the application form with all relevant documents by speed post. They will have to download the application form from www.dheodisha.gov.in . The application form is also available on the official website of these two aforesaid universities.
Applications received after June 30 will not be accepted.
Notably, the tenure of the VCs of Rama Devi Women’s University Padmaja Mishra and Khallikote Unitary University Amarendra Narayan Mishra will end on July 14 and July 13, respectively.
