Bhubaneswar: All departments and sub-ordinate offices of the Odisha government will operate with 50% of employees’ strength (all staff including Group A Officers) during the month of August and ensure that work does not suffer.
The Principal Secretary, in an order dated July 31, also mandated that government offices will remain closed on all Saturdays next month, keeping in mind the rising coronavirus positive cases in the state.
The departments/heads of offices will have the discretion to decide the manner of selection of employees who will attend office on roster basis.
However, essential offices/services like SRC and OSDMA offices, Police, Fire Services, Health services, Municipal services etc. shall function at full strength.
Officers and staff who have been provided with VPN will work from home, when they are not assigned office duty. They must be available to attend to any work of urgent nature at short notice and be available on telephone all the time.
