Bhubaneswar: The State Government on Monday announced that sports complexes and stadiums will be opened during lockdown 4.0.
The decision was taken for ensuring maintenance of the sports infrastructure which has remained closed since the first lockdown was imposed. As per today’s guidelines of the State Government, athletes and sportspersons can practise in the complexes while following the corona guidelines.
But sports event or any kind of congregations inside the stadiums has been restricted.
Announcing that Kalinga Stadium will be open to athletes for training, Minister for Sports and Youth Services Tusharkanti Behera appealed to them to strictly follow social distancing while interacting with fellow sportspersons, trainers and support staff.
Wearing masks, washing hands and maintaining personal hygiene have also been made mandatory for the sportspersons. If they show symptoms of the flu, they have been told to refrain from visiting and training at the Stadium, said the minister.
