Bhubaneswar: Forest and Environment Minister Bijayshree Routray on Tuesday informed the State Assembly that the Odisha State Pollution Control Board (OSPCB) has served closure notice on 27 hotels for environmental pollution this year.
The Board has served notices on these hotels for releasing sewerage water without proper treatment in gross violation of the pollution norms.
“However, out of these 27 hotels, one hotel is operating on the basis of a stay order from the court, while 11 hotels are operating despite closure notices being served on them,” said the minister while replying to a question by Congress member Tara Prasad Bahinipati.
