Bhubaneswar: All degree colleges in Odisha under the jurisdiction of Higher Education Department have been asked to appoint guest faculty.
In a letter to principals of all degree colleges, Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Higher Education, Saswat Mishra said during the commencement of physical classes of final year under-graduate (UG) and post-graduate (PG) students on January 11, the department had asked them to appoint guest faculty as there is a shortage of regular teachers.
As the physical classes for Plus III second-year students will commence from February 10, the degree college principals have been asked to appoint guest faculty, Mishra said.
However, he has asked the principals to ensure that the number of guest faculty to be appointed will not exceed the number of faculty appointed during 2019-20 academic session.
The principals have been asked to submit a report regarding the appointment of the guest faculty latest by February 28.
