Bhubaneswar: In order to help the farmers boost their income, the Odisha government is exploring the prospects of exporting agriculture products, fish and seafood Dubai, Singapore and Bangkok.
This was revealed by Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment, Fisheries and Animal Resources Ranendra Pratap Swain at a meeting with the representatives of the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) from New Delhi and Odisha in the city on Thursday.
Swain said the export scope of farm products to Dubai, Singapore and Bangkok has opened with the operation of direct flights from Bhubaneswar to the three countries. He directed the officers of his departmental present at the meeting to take necessary measures in this regard soon.
Suresh Kumar Vashishth, principal secretary, Fisheries and Animal Resources department and Prem Chandra Chaudhary, Director, Agriculture and Food Production were present at the meeting.
