Bhubaneswar: Odisha government plans to set up public health laboratory in each block and district to various testing facilities to the patients, said Public Health director Niranjan Mishra on Friday.
Speaking to the media on the sidelines of a workshop, Mishra said an integrated public health laboratory will be set up in each district and a public health laboratory at community health centre (CHC) in each block.
He said the government’s plan aims at strengthening laboratory network in the state for the convenience of the patients. Services like haematology, microbiology, cytology, and pathology would be made available to them under one roof, he added.
“As per the plan, new buildings will be constructed to house the laboratory so that one can undergo the tests and get reports from one place. Such facilities have been opened in Malkangiri and Nuapada and all the districts will be covered in phases,” the director said.
