Bhubaneswar: Odisha sportspersons who did the state and country proud at the recent Special Olympics World Summer Games in Berlin were felicitated here on Thursday.
Sports minister Tusharkanti Behera presented the medal winners with cash awards for their outstanding performances for India in Berlin and wished them more success.
Aridita Chakraborty (silver in 400m & bronze in shot put) received a cheque for Rs 4 lakh, Kalpana Jena (silver in cycling) received Rs 3 lakh, Baishnab Rajpalia (silver in shot put) Rs 3 lakh, Shibani Priyadarshini & Mamali Nag (bronze in beach volleyball) Rs 1 lakh, Jyoti Ranjan Ojha (bronze in volleyball) Rs 50,000 and Sachin Barik (4th in futsal) Rs 25,000.
