Bhubaneswar: Odisha government has promoted 19 IPS officers of the state cadre to higher ranks.
According to a notification issued by the General Administration and Public Grievances department on Friday, 5 IPS officers have been promoted to the rank of Inspector General (IG) of police and six others to Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of police.
Besides, a senior IPS officer has been promoted to the rank of Additional Director General (ADG) of police.
Anup Kumar Sahoo, Amrita Dash, Anirudha Kumar Singh, Anoop Krishna and Sudha Singh, all IPS officers of 2006 batch, was promoted to the rank of IG police. Ghanashyam Upadhyay of 1999 batch, now on Central deputation, has been promoted as ADG police.
Mitrabhanu Mahapatra, Sarah Sharma and Kanwar Vishal Singh, all of 2010 batch, were promoted to the grade of DIG police. Similarly, Ashish Kumar Singh, Parul Gupta and K Siva Subramani will now hold the rank of DIG police.
IPS officers Pinak Mishra, Banoth Jugal Kishore Kumar, Battula Gangadhar, Rahul Jain, Sarvana Vivek, Kusalkar Nitin Dagdu and Pratyush Diwaker have also been promoted to higher ranks.
