Bhubaneswar: Odisha government has promoted two senior IPS officers to the rank of Director General (DG) of Police.
According to a notification issued by the General Administration and Public Grievances department on Thursday, senior IPS officer Lalit Das of 1992 batch has been promoted to the grade of DG of Police under sub-rule (2) of rule 3 of the IPS (Pay) Rules, 2016.
Das, who is now in charge of Human Rights Protection Cell (HRPC) of Odisha Police, will continue to hold the post till further notice.
Similarly, IPS officer Sapna Tewari of the same batch, who is now on Central deputation, has been promoted to the grade of DG of police under sub-rule (5) of rule 8 of IPS (Pay) Rules, 2016, the notification said.
