Bhubaneswar: In order to promote tourism, the Odisha government has proposed to set up beach shacks at 15 different locations.
This was revealed at a meeting chaired by Asit Tripathy, principal advisor to the Chief Minister, in Bhubaneswar on Friday. Tripathy reviewed various works to be taken up by Tourism Department.
Asit Tripathy, Principal Advisor to the Chief Minister chaired over the meeting and said that growth of tourism potential will boost State’s development along with creating more opportunities for employment of local people.
During the meeting, it was mooted to build 15 beach shacks in the locations at Gopalpur and Sonapur in Ganjam district, Chandipur and Talasari in Balasore and Paradip in Jagatsighpur.
It was also decided to launch the services of a cruise vessel in the Hirakud reservoir in Sambalpur district.
Development of infrastructure and other amenities in Harishankar and Nrushingnath will be completed by December. The construction of market complex, parking area, entrance plaza, bathing ghat, toilet block, shops, drinking water facility will be provided at both locations for the tourists as part of the project.
Tripathy said growth of tourism potential will boost the state’s development along with creating more opportunities for employment of local people.
