Bhubaneswar: The state government on Saturday announced that the weekend shutdown in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Puri will be relaxed upto 11 am on August 15 to enable the people to unfurl the National Flag on the Independence Day.
In a release, the office of the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) stated that the people of these cities can unfurl the Tricolour on their premises on the condition that not more than 10 persons will congregate at one place and all safety protocols such as social distancing, wearing masks and sanitisation are followed.
In other places of the state, the National Flag can be unfurled in presence of not more than 20 people.
The SRC orders further said the state and district level functions for hoisting of National Flag shall be organised as per the guidelines issued by the government.
However, other government offices may celebrate the function with not more than 10 employees in the cities of Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Puri and not more than 20 staff members in other places of the state.
