Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Thursday released the draft architectural plan for the Konark heritage corridor project.
The Works Department presented the draft plan to apprise Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik of the design of the proposed project, at a virtual meeting.
As per the draft plan, the following works will be taken up for the proposed project:
—Six-laning of 3.5-km outer ring road of Konark
—Development of all roads in Konark connecting the Sun Temple
—Construction of pavement for pedestrians
—More pointers between Bhubaneswar and Konark
—Landscaping of 30 acre of land in front of the temple
—Construction of an attractive entry plaza to welcome the tourists
—Construction of a multi-modal hub for the parking of vehicles
—Renovation of open-air theatre on the temple premises
—Rehabilitation of the street vendors
Among others, 5T secretary VK Pandian, Chief Secretary Suresh Mahapatra, Electronics & Information Technology, Sports & Youth Services minister Tusharkanti Behera and senior officials of the departments concerned were present.
