Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has sanctioned Rs 12.79 crore for construction of the proposed Raj Mahal for Dhanu Jatra on the playground of Nishamani High School in Bargarh town.
Sharing the official letter from the State Tourism Department on X, Bargarh MLA Ashwini Kumar Sarangi expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida for their support. He added that the initiative would elevate the grandeur of the world’s largest open-air theatre.
During his visit to Bargarh on January 12 when he attended the Dhanu Jatra festivity, Chief Minister Mohan Majhi had announced that a permanent Raj Mahal could be constructed for King Kansa at an estimated cost of Rs 12 crore.
