Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has sought suggestions from the people to be used as inputs in preparation of the state’s annual budget for 2025-26.
The Finance department, in a release on Friday, said it has been holding pre-budget consultation with a cross section of the society. In the previous years, in order to make the budgetary process more open and participative using Information and Communication (ICT), the department has initiated the process of obtaining inputs for Budget preparation through the dedicated Budget web-portal, e-mail, WhatsApp and SMS. The portal displays all budget related documents.
“Now, the Finance department invites suggestions in a structured format in the Budget web-portal https://budget.odisha.gov.in/ to be used as input in the process of preparation of Annual Budget 2025-26,” the release said.
Suggestions can be sent by e-mail to the address odisha.budget@gov.in. Similarly, suggestions for Budget are also invited through WhatsApp to the Mobile number (erstwhile Twitter) (@FdOdisha), Facebook (@FinanceOdisha) and Instagram (@fdodisha). This facility will be available till January 31.
Members of the public, Civil Society Organisations, advocacy groups and other stakeholders have been requested to use the opportunity to participate in the budget making process of the state government, the department stated.
