Bhubaneswar: A total of 46 Civil Judge (Junior Division) courts have been set up in 22 districts of Odisha to speed up legal proceedings and reduce workload on existing judicial infrastructure, an official release said on Friday.
“These courts have been established in consultation with the Orissa High Court. A notification has been issued following the approval of the proposal by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi,” it said.
These courts are located in Baliapal, Simulia, Soro, Bahanaga, and Jaleswar in Balasore district; Rengali, Bamra, Kuchinda, and Jamankira in Sambalpur district; Rayagada in Rayagada district; Satyabadi in Puri district; Saharpada and Harichandanpur in Keonjhar district
strong>; Bahalda, Raruan, Bisoi, and Baripada in Mayurbhanj district; Balikuda and Nuagaon in Jagatsinghpur district; Balishankara, Lefripada, Bargaon, and Kuanrmunda in Sundargarh district; Barang and Kantapada in Cuttack district; Ulunda in Sonepur district; Bhatli in Bargarh district; Kolabira in Jharsuguda district; Banapur in Khurda district; Patangi in Koraput district; Rasulpur, Korei, and Dharmasala in Jajpur district; Mahakalpada, Garadpur, and Marshaghai in Kendrapada district; Tikabali, K Nuagaon, and Khajuriapada in Kandhamal district; Tihidi in Bhadrak district; Khairput in Malkangiri district; Dhenkanal in Dhenkanal district; Patnagarh in Balangir district; and Kukudakhandi, Dharakote, and Ganjam in Ganjam district.
The release further stated that these include the 3 courts, the formation of which the government had announced on April 23 at Baliapal in Balasore district, Lefripada in Sundargarh district, and Rengali in Sambalpur district. With the establishment of these three courts, the jurisdiction of all other Junior Division Civil Judge courts over these revenue tehsils comes to an end, it added.
