Bhadrak: The Odisha government has suspended another official for alleged negligence of duty assigned to him during Cyclone ‘Dana’ in the state.
According to sources, Bikash Kumar Das, revenue supervisor, was deputed on cyclone duty in tehsil office at Tihidi in Bhadrak district. He was accused of drinking alcohol during duty hours, misbehaving with people and disobeying the orders of senior officers.
Following investigation into the allegations, the district collector suspended Das from his job. Das has been asked to report in the office of deputy collector in Bhadrak during suspension period. He has also been directed not to leave the district headquarters during the suspensions, the sources said.
It may be noted that the government had suspended four of its officials for dereliction of duty and illtreating people during cyclone Dana on October 26.
The four suspended officials included three PEOs and one Revenue Inspector (RI).
