Bhubaneswar: The state government has suspended Odisha Administrative (OAS) officer Sanjib Kumar Mahapatra with immediate effect.
The services of Mahapatra, who was BDO of Chandbali in Bhadrak district, has been withdrawn from PR & DW department, stated an order issued by the Revenue and Disaster Management Department on Thursday.
While exercising the powers conferred by Clause (a) of Sub-rule (1) of Rule-12 of OCS (CC&A) Rules 1962, Odisha Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati suspended Mahapatra.
Notably, a disciplinary proceeding against Mahapatra is being contemplated.
During the period of suspension, the headquarters of Mahapatra will be at the Collectorate Bhadrak.
The order added the OAS officer will not leave the headquarters without obtaining prior permission of the Collector. He will be entitled to the payment of subsistence allowance in accordance with Rule-90 of Odisha Service Code.
