Bhubaneswar: In order to strengthen professional development and training of teacher in primary education, the Odisha government will appoint 108 teacher educators.
The School & Mass Education department, in a release on Monday, said the teacher educators, who will be recruited through OSSC, will be placed in District Institutes of Education and Training (DIETs) and Block Institutes of Education and Training (BIETs) across the state.
The selection process for the position has been concluded by the Odisha Staff Selection Commission (OSSC) and the selected candidates will be issued appointment letters by the department soon.
The deployment of the highly skilled teacher educators aims at ensurin continuous professional development of primary teachers and equipping them with necessary knowledge and skills to excel in their profession. The educators will work closely with the department to design and deliver effective training programs, conduct workshops and seminars, provide guidance on pedagogy and curriculum development, and foster a culture of innovation in teaching practices.
Besides improving the quality of education, the move is expected to address the long-standing issue of vacant positions in the department.
