Odisha Govt To Develop Gundichaghagi Waterfall In Keonjhar To Promote Tourism

Keonjhar: The Odisha government would develop Gundichaghagi waterfall in Keonjhar district to attract tourists and create employment opportunities in the area.

This was stated by secretary (5T) to chief minister VK Pandian on the second day of his visit to the district on Sunday. he said the area the infrastructure around Gundichaghagi waterfall will be built keeping next 500 years  in view and will be completed within six months of the commencement of work.

He first visited Siddha Math under Keonjhar municipality and went to Deka Devi temple. He held discussions with the temple committee members, servitors and local people on development of Siddha Math and adjoining areas.

Pandian took stock of the ongoing construction works of the football ground, athletic ground, indoor badminton court, archery ground, and indoor gymnasium at Dharnidhar Sports Complex in Shankarpur and interacted with the players.

The secretary visited Ghatgaon where he offered puja at Tardhana’s Peetha. He also addressed a gathering of farmers, Mission Shakti members and local people at the local mini stadium. Maa Tardina shrine would be developed like Jagannath temple in Puri, he said.

Later, Pandian visited Gonasika Abhimukh in Bhashanpal block and the origin site of Baitarani River and Guptaganga. He discussed with the officials regarding development of theh area and advised the district collector to prepare a detailed project report (DPR).

He also went to Shiv Peetha Brameshwar temple and surveyed the development work there. From there, he moved to Kusumoyodi under Harichandanpur block and visited the local women farmers’ market.

The Tasar Silk Park Abhimukh in Baghamunda, Sundarpal under Hatdihi block and Anandpur barrage were also visited by Pandian.
