Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has decided to form Kudumi Development Council for providing special support and assistance for the development of Kudumi community.
A decision to this effect was taken by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday.
The council will support the community for its socio-economic advancement and also work for the resurgence of their cultural ethos.
It was felt necessary for extensive involvement of this community in the development process to bring in inclusive and participative socio-economic growth.
It may be noted here that the people of Kudumi community of Odisha are living in different parts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Sambalpur and neighbouring districts.
