Odisha Govt To Provide New Scorpio To Police Stations, Bikes To Investigating Officers

Bhubaneswar: With the Odisha government taking steps to strengthen the police force, 679 police stations across the state will be provided new Scorpio vehicles.

Stating this on Saturday, DGP Yogesh Bahadur Khurania informed that the vehicles would be delivered to the police stations within 15 days. Besides, the investigating officers would be provided bikes and investigative kits including laptops, smart phones, pen drives, he added.

The DGP said the police department had submitted a proposal to the state government to prepare a separate budget for investigating officers. The government has agreed to the proposal, he added.

In order to strengthen 18 marine police stations in the state, special boats would be provided to them, Khurania said.
